Welcome to beautiful Bukit Lawang, a small village that serves as the perfect starting point for exploring Gunung Leuser National Park. Located in North Sumatra, Indonesia, this park is home to one of Southeast Asia's most magnificent rainforests.
As local guides, we are dedicated to preserving the forest of Gunung Leuser National Park and protecting its wildlife Sumatran orangutans, Sumatran tigers, elephants, and a host of other species. We operate as a team rather than for individual gain; our earnings support our families and help the local community.
Gunung Leuser National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the few places left on Earth where you can see Sumatran orangutans a critically endangered species in their natural habitat.Beyond that, the park is home to a wide array of rare andexotic animals, flowers, and plants. When you book with us, you will be accompanied by experienced guides certified by the Indonesian Tourist Guide Association (HPI/ITGA), all at competitive, official standard rates.

HOW IT AL STARTED
My name is YAZID, founder of Sumatra Jungle Trek In. I was born and raised in Sumatra and I working as tour guide since 2012 in Bukit Lawang, a small village on the edge of the beauty Sumatran rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park. I spend in the jungle has been a huge part of my life. Our mentoring has worked at the Orangutan Rehabilitation Center in Bukit Lawang since 1980. I learned a lot about the jungle from them. My family Ren Tony also helped me to understand the ways of the forest. Together, they taught me about the wildlife, the plants and how to survive in the jungle.
